After an amazing launch in 2009 with over 575 team members raising $38,000 for Susan G. Komen, Williams Warriors is back for the 2010 Race for the Cure!
DeAngelo Williams, running back for the Carolina Panthers, is "clawing for a cure" for breast cancer. He is partnering with the Charlotte Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the second year to help find a cure. DeAngelo is encouraging people to join with him in this battle by registering for his team Williams Warriors.
DeAngelo's life has been touched in many ways by this disease. His mother, Sandra Hill, was diagnosed in August 2004. This did not come as a total surprise, as she had unfortunately become all too familiar with this disease. "My first sister was diagnosed at 28 and died at age 33," explained Mrs. Hill. "My second sister discovered her cancer in 1993 while pregnant and passed away July 4, 2007." Sandra lost her last sister to breast cancer in 2005.
As a part of his personal fight against breast cancer, DeAngelo is happy to be partnering again with the Race for the Cure. "I encourage you to join the Williams Warriors and team up in the fight against breast cancer. When the cure is found, we will all know our efforts have played a part in beating the disease."
